There has been a Recall on Frescolina Ricotta Salata Cheese, due to 3 listeria deaths, 14 hospitalizations. At least three people are dead among 14 people sickened in 11 states by an outbreak of listeria food poisoning linked to contaminated ricotta salata cheese, health officials said late Tuesday.
Frescolina Ricotta Cheese is made by Forever Cheese. The cheese was sold to distributors for retail stores and restaurants in 18 states and the District of Columbia between June 20 and Aug. 9. Because the cheese may remain in home refrigerators, consumers should check for the product and discard it. “This is especially important for pregnant women, persons with weakened immune systems and older adults.” The recall affects lot number T9425 and/or production code 441202.
